Our Story
The Spark
Pour Over Lab was not built as a business idea. It started with simple curiosity and a deep love for coffee.
Over a decade ago, a friend returned from Canada with a French Press. For him, it was just something to show his friends and family. For me, it changed everything.
I borrowed that French Press and brewed my first few cups of coffee without really knowing what I was doing. Back then, good coffee was hard to find where I had lived. I had no idea how deep this world could go. But those early, imperfect brews sparked something. What began as curiosity slowly turned into obsession.
The Growth
As I grew, my collection grew with me. From that one French Press to more brewers than I can count. None of it was planned. None of it was for show. Every brewer I picked up was to understand coffee a little more.
After years of quietly learning, I started an Instagram page called Kaapi Brewing. Through that, I connected with so many people and found myself talking about coffee more than ever.
That is when I realised something. In Kerala, there was no real space to experience coffee beyond a cafe setting. No place to actually learn about it outside of the typical commercial training setups. That thought stayed with me.
The Lab
Over time, that thought became Pour Over Lab.
It is a space built to share what I have learned. To make coffee simple, honest and approachable. A place where people can experience coffee in its real form, understand it better and build their own connection with it.
Pour Over Lab is not a cafe. It is not a typical training centre. It is a continuation of a journey that started with one borrowed French Press and a lot of curiosity.
What started by accident has now become something I want to pass on.
"From a borrowed French Press to a space where experience became learning - this is Pour Over Lab."
